Carolina Melis is an internationally acclaimed creative director and artist. In 2025, she founded Melis Hansen S, a studio dedicated to creating original animated content blending traditional craft, digital art, and AI-driven innovation. The studio collaborates with a team of 10 talented creatives, combining expertise from animation, illustration, design, and coding to shape innovative IPs for young audiences.

With over 20 years of experience, Carolina has directed campaigns for clients such as BBC, Sony, Prada, and Volkswagen, winning awards including a Clio and a Eurobest. She worked as an animation director at Nexus Productions (London) and later as a director for Pixomondo (China) collaborating with M&C Saatchi.

Her acclaimed short film s’Ozzastru, supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture, ISRE, and Sardegna Film Commission, premiered at the Festa del Cinema di Roma (Alice nella Città) and won multiple awards, including a Gold and a Bronze at the Collision Award in 2024.

Carolina is also the creator of Kubikino, her first generative art collection, launched on ArtBlocks and sold out in 28 minutes . In parallel to her animation work, she continues to work as an illustrator and designer (carolinamelis.com) with publications, exhibitions, and collaborations worldwide, including shows at the Victoria & Albert Museum (London) and the Palais de Tokyo (Paris).

Today, Carolina is also the Artistic Director of the New Animation Department at the Sardegna Film Commission, where she promotes animation and innovation locally and internationally.
